Supernatural and Walker prequels drop preview trailers

The CW wastes no time getting The Winchesters and Walker: Independence in the world.

Prequels to the long-running American fantasy series Supernatural and pull restart Walkerboth of these titles have now unveiled their first trailers ahead of the fall release dates.

It’s only been less than a week since official word came in of orders for the full season.

The first glimpse of The Winchesters opens with Dean Winchester (reprised by main man himself Jensen Ackles) doodling in a notepad.

“Winchester’s story…it’s always been a mystery,” he says. “I have to find out the truth about my parents. Was it the hunt for evil that brought them together or was it something more?

“To find out the truth, the real story goes all the way back to 1972, the day Dad came home from the war and the night he met Mom.”

Cue punches with demons as young John and Mary Winchester learn the ropes.

Meanwhile, Walker: Independence could be Katherine McNamara’s true coming out party as an actress, chewing up the sunny landscape as protagonist Abigail Walker, whose husband is killed before her eyes by bandits of the night.

In the preview itself, we see her play dead at the scene before being rescued and starting a new life in the town of Independence.

“People here…they’re all running from something,” she informs him, but a run-in with the local sheriff poses problems for her future there.

Is he hiding something, and will Abigail be forced to bring him to justice?
