BREWER ASSISTANT

Looking for a versatile and passionate Assistant Brewer interested in making high quality beer in an innovative segment of the craft beer market. Athletic Brewing is pioneering a revolution in alcohol-free craft beer. The opportunity offered by this role can be just as vast in a rapidly growing business. You will work alongside an award-winning chef brewer to tackle unique challenges. Professional responsibilities:

? Reports to the brewery manager

? The brewer-in-training role will learn the brewing process by starting in the cellar and learning the basic sanitary practices involved in brewing. Remediation activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Clean floors, drains, tank faces, disinfect brewing parts.

? Participate in all aspects of wort production to assist the brewing team including, but not limited to:

  • Reception / storage of ingredients, grinding, weighing, crushing, boiling, transfer, inoculation, aeration, monitoring and recording in written and digital format

? Assist the brewing team in all cellar activities including, but not limited to:

  • Monitoring and recording, CIP and SIP, yeast handling, filtration, cleaning, transfers.

? Professional and meticulous use of all brewery chemicals

? Assists in quality assurance by performing DO measurements, CIP verification, PH and gravity readings.

? Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

To live:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Brewery diploma not required but viewed favorably.
  • Experience in the cellar and in brewing production is appreciated.
  • Previous experience in food production is appreciated.
  • Experience with tools appreciated.
  • Experience with sanitation and cleaning systems appreciated.

? Salary: Related to experience – Base salary and performance bonus opportunities.
